REV. SYLVESTER WITT MARSTON, D. D Bishop College was his brain child and under his inspiration the colored people took the initiative, and resolved to establish a Normal and Theological school, under the auspices of the American Baptist Home Mission Society, for the benefit of the colored Baptists of Texas, Arkansas and Northern Louisiana.
