WORK OF NEGRO TEACHERS

Twenty-Third Annual Convention Began Yesterday With Attendance of Two Hundred

More than 200 of the colored teachers of the State met yesterday morning in the New Hope Baptist Church in the twenty-third annual convention of the  Colored Teachers' Association of Texas. The convention was addressed by Victor H. Hexter, president of the School Board of Dallas, and a program of music and discussion of various subjects was executed. Samples of the work of the domestic science and manual training departments of the colored schools of the state are being exhibited.  

Following is the program for today: 

Second Day. Dec. 27, Morning Session, 9:30 o'clock - Music, local talent; invocation, J. T. S. White D. D.; music, local talent, welcome address in behalf of the city , S. J. Hay, Mayor of Dallas; response, E. L. Blackshear, Prairie View  College, .Prairie View; music, local talent, welcome address in behalf of the citizens, B. R. Bluitt; response, F. J. Chariton, Beaumont; music, local talent, annual address. W. C. Rollins, president,  Prairie View; music, local talent, collection of dues; enrolment of new members; appointment of committees; music.

Morning Session, Primary Department, Conductor Mrs. L. C.
