Married At the residence of the bride's father Chas Young on Sunday December 4th, 1904, Dr T E Speed and Miss Mabel Young were united in marriage, Elder D B Hale officiating.

 Dr Speed is one of our leading colored citizens, and is president of the Lone Star medical association of Texas. He and his bride enjoy the highest respect of their own people and the white citizens also, and have the best wishes of all.

Notice to School Patrons
     I give notice that on Tuesday September 13th I will make the apportionment of school money to the various school districts in the county for the ensuing school session and I request all persons who desire to transfer their children ¬ from one district to another to make said transfers not later than Monday September 12th The law provides that no transfers can be made lawfully after the apportionment of the money has been made 
    The following teachers have been elected to teach in the county the ensuing session

That popular colored barber Charlie Young and his family have returned from a vacation at Colorado Springs and Denver, Col. Charlie said he had a good time and delightful experience seeing the sight and witnessing the enterprise and progress of the people in the glorious climate of Colorado; Says they are the cleanest towns and cities extant that he never saw a blade of grass or a dirty spot inside of no town or city corporation in Colorado,
