1922 Mrs. Mabel S. Lee, a devoted worker in the American Missionary Association, died at Tillotson College, Austin, Texas, April 9, 1922. Her first work with the Association was at Gregory Institute, Wilmington, North Carolina, where she had charge of the junior high school. In 1917-1918 she accepted an appointment as head of the Commercial Department at Tillotson College, where that department came to be recognized throughout the state for the efficiency of its graduates. Requiring high standards she nevertheless endeared herself to the hearts of her students, who together with her associates on the faculty sincerely mourn her death. The influence and the example of her Christian character will live long in the atmosphere of Tillotson.
